Last night, I had the thrill of photographing the Suburban League boys varsity basketball showdown between the Solon Comets and the Twinsburg Tigers at Twinsburg High School. As a Northeast Ohio photographer passionate about high school sports, there’s nothing quite like capturing the intensity of these local rivalries. From the opening tip, the game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams showcasing strong defense and quick transitions. I positioned myself courtside to snap those pivotal moments—like drives to the basket and contested rebounds—that really tell the story of the competition.
The Comets ultimately pulled away for a hard-fought 65-59 victory. This win marks Solon’s second triumph over Twinsburg this season, following a nail-biter 60-59 decision back in December 2025. The Tigers put up a valiant effort, but Solon maintained composure in the closing minutes, fending off a late rally. From behind the lens, I loved seeing the crowd’s energy surge during those tense possessions; the gym was alive with cheers from both sides, making for some dynamic crowd shots in my gallery.
The photos capture the grit, athleticism, and passion that make high school basketball so special. Stay tuned —I’m always chasing the next great shot!
Photos of both the Varsity & Junior Varsity Games are in the High School Basketball (Boys) Page on my PHOTOGRAPHY WEBSITE.
