Twinsburg High School Senior Parade 2020

We have a High School Senior at Twinsburg High School this year. Today was supposed to be the day he was to walk across the stage and officially graduate. BUT, due to COVID-19 everything has been cancelled.

So, today the High School arranged to have a parade around the communities. There were over 300 cars in the parade. Some people even decorated their cars. We too the Jeep and it had the top folded back and the lower fabric doors were installed. It was a little chilly today but overall a great day.

The first photo below you can see us in the parade (photo by Dennis Pylypiak). Scroll down a little further and see some more photos and at the bottom is a short video I posted of the event. I was in the parade and could not do my usual complete coverage with photos so I put together what I could. There was a spot on the route that we doubled back on ourselves and I was able to get some video.

I hope you enjoy the photos and video, stay safe everyone!

Everyone lined up and ready to go
Shortly before departure
I recorded the track of the parade using Gaia GPS and you see the track on the Gaia Website at this LINK

A short video I put together of the Twinsburg High School Senior Parade today. I was in the parade with my sons so I did not get many photos or content. I was able to take some iphone photos and videos. The photo near the end was taken by Dennis Pylypiak of my jeep, boys and myself.

Wheel Cleaning Chemicals

Do you want your tires to shine like this tire on my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon? What chemicals do you use to clean your tires? In the photo below you will see all the chemicals I use on a regular basis. I will also go over what I use them for, etc.

Here is a list of all the products going left to rightL

  • Chemical Guys Vinyl Rubber Plastic (VRP) – this is the last thing I use. It is water based dressing that gives the tires their final shine. It is a fairly thick liquid and I use and store it in a squeeze bottle. I buy it by the gallon and then split it into these bottles.
  • Meguiar’s Wheel & Paint Iron Decon D1801 – this is a iron remover. I do not use this on every wheel, only when it is needed and there is a lot of brake dust present on the wheel. This is a thicker liquid and will cling to the wheel and as it is working it will turn purple and then I rinse it off. This is the first thing I use. I get it by the gallon and then put it into the spray bottle. This is ready to use and does not get diluted.
  • Meguiar’s Super Degreaser D108 – This is a great degreaser. I use it on tires and anything else that is very dirty. When cleaning tires I will spray the tire with this and then scrub with a stiff brush. You will see the foam created turn brown if the tire is dirty. I get it by the gallon and then put it into the spray bottle. I dilute this 4:1, so it becomes very economical.
  • Meguiar’s Non Acid Wheel Cleaner D143 – This is a wheel and tire cleaner. I usually only use this on the wheels but is also does a good job on the tires. When cleaning wheels I will spray the wheel with this and then use a long brush to clean the barrel of the wheel. Once the barrel is complete I will spray the face of the wheel and use a detailing brush to clean the wheel. It foams up nicely and cleans well. the next step is to rinse everything off. I get it by the gallon and then put it into the spray bottle. I dilute this 4:1, so it becomes very economical.
  • Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener D140 – This is an acid based wheel cleaner. I will only use this when needed. Usually only need to use this when there is a good bit of brake dust on the wheel. You need to be careful with acid based cleaners, so make sure it is compatible with your wheels before use. I get it by the gallon and then put it into the spray bottle. I dilute this 4:1, so it becomes very economical.
  • Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax – This is the final step for the face of the wheel. Wheels can be difficult to place any type of sealant on, so I came up with an idea to use one of the spray ceramic waxes. After I am completely done with the cleaning I will spray this on the face of the wheel and then rinse it off. It leaves a ceramic coating and water beads off the wheel very easily.
  • Lake Country Tire Dressing Applicator – This is a round foam applicator that I use to apply the VRP to the tire. This is the final step and I usually do this at the completion of the detailing. I like to apply the VRP to a dry tire. This works great on soot faced tires. But, in the photo above of the tire you will notice that it is a BF Goodrich KO2 All-Terrain Tire and it is difficult to get the dressing into the treads on the side wall. So, on these tires I will use a short handle all purpose exterior brush to put it on the tire.

So, there you have it, all the chemicals I use to clean and treat tires and wheels. Did this help you? What do you use? Please share with me. Enjoy!

Twinsburg’s Drive By Memorial Day Parade

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the traditional Twinsburg Memorial Day Parade was cancelled. he VFW 4929 planned on having a private ceremony the small park next to the hall. The City arranged for a way for the community to honor the Veterans at the end of their ceremony.

The City asked the residents and the public official to line up at Twinsburg High School and have a Drive By Parade past the VFW Hall. Near the end of the ceremony the parade came past with all of the Vets watching. I set my camera up across the street to stay out of the way. I was able to capture photos and video of the parade.

You can see all the photos from the parade on my photography website in this gallery.

Enjoy!

Memorial Day

This is Memorial Day Weekend in the United States. This not just a three day weekend, but on Memorial Day we honor military personal who had died while serving the United State Armed Forces. For many years the City of Twinsburg VFW 4929 has held a Memorial Day Parade, but this year due to COVID-19 it was cancelled. This year will be different but we will still honor these Great Americans who served and paid the ultimate for the freedom of the rest of us. The photo above is the VFW 4929 Honor Guard from the 2019 Parade. You can see photos of the previous years I was there on my photography website in this gallery.

Symphony in the Stars Fireworks

It is #FireworksFriday and here is a photo from the “Symphony in the Stars Fireworks” I took back in 2015. This fireworks show has not run since June 15, 2016. This was done during “Star Wars Weekends” which had its last appearance in 2015.

I framed this photo over the Echo Lake’ Dockside Diner at Walt Disney World’s Disney Hollywood Studios.

Enjoy!

China Pavilion

A few photos of the China Pavilion in Epcot at Walt Disney World. Today Disney Springs opened after being closed due to COVID-19. I wonder how long it will be until the rest of Walt Disney World is up and running. Enjoy!

Ohio High School Athletic Association Service Award

Last night Twinsburg High School surprised me with an award during their virtual 2020 Senior Awards & Scholarship Presentation. This is an annual event where the High School honors the recipients of School Awards and Scholarships. They moved it to a video posted on the district website and it went live at 7 PM last night.

I did not know about this award and at about 7:15 PM last night I started to get congratulations messages. I feel very honored and humbled to be recognized for my efforts to photograph Twinsburg Schools Sports and other events around town. I find great enjoyment in doing it and sharing my talents with the community. You can visit my Sports Galleries on my Photography Website. In the video below you will see my award at approx. 11 min in.

I can’t wait to get back on the turf and photograph Soccer and Football! Enjoy!
