Behind the Lens at Porsche Beachwood: A Hands-On Auto Photography Experience

Automotive enthusiasts and photographers were treated to a unique, hands-on experience at Porsche Beachwood on September 28th, 2025, thanks to Flat 6 Photowerks and Pixel Connection. Hosted by acclaimed photographer Greg Castell, this immersive workshop gave participants the chance to master car photography amidst the sleek lines and iconic presence of Porsche sports cars.

The session ran 2 and a half hours at Ohio’s first Generation 5 Porsche Center. Attendees practiced techniques for staging, lighting, and capturing vehicles, with guidance from Greg Castell of Flat 6 Photowerks. Through shooting three unique Porsche models, the group explored how to bring out the personality and aesthetic of each car in their images.

Greg’s instruction focused not just on snapping photos, but also on editing and sharing automotive art on social media. The workshop demonstrated real-world workflows, from setting up a dynamic scene at the dealership for maximum impact online.

Thanks to sponsorship from Pixel Connection, this event emphasized the growing intersection between car culture and digital photography. Limited attendance allowed for personalized interaction—participants could ask questions, try advanced settings, and walk away with new skills and inspiring photos.

For anyone passionate about cars and camera work, events like the Flat 6 Photowerks workshop at Porsche Beachwood nurture creativity and connection. They spotlight the technical artistry behind automotive imagery and offer the thrill of photographing legendary vehicles in a professional setting.

If you missed this one, keep an eye out for future workshops at Pixel Connection and Porsche Beachwood. These collaborations provide some of the best opportunities to learn, shoot, and grow alongside fellow automotive and photography fans.

At the event, I captured some of Porsche’s most celebrated models. The vehicles photographed included a Porsche 911 GT3 (displayed in blue outside the dealership) and a Porsche 911 Spirit 70 (displayed in green). These exemplify the engineering and design excellence that makes the 911 legendary. My photos captured

  • Exterior shots showing the aggressive stance and flowing lines of the 2025 Porsche 911s
  • Detail images highlighting signature design cues such as the GT3’s rear wing, classic profile, wheels, and the iconic Porsche crest.
  • Dynamic compositions placing these vehicles within the modern architecture of the Porsche Beachwood showroom and dealership exterior.
  • Interior snapshots revealing the premium materials, sports seats, and precise instrumentation that define the Porsche driving experience.

These vehicles, set against the backdrop of Ohio’s first Generation 5 Porsche Center, provided a perfect combination of form, function, and automotive aspiration for every attendee’s portfolio.
