From the August 21 opener against Kent Theodore Roosevelt to the October 23 finale against Mayfield, the 2026 Twinsburg High School football season gave me plenty of reasons to keep the camera ready. On the field, along the sidelines, and up in the stands, there was always another part of the evening worth remembering.
With the season wrapped up, I’ve pulled together my top 25 photos—a collection of the people, action, and school spirit that made these fall nights feel like Twinsburg.
A Season on the Sidelines
Football asks you to pay attention. A quarterback sets his feet, a defender closes the gap, and a play changes direction before you can finish following it through the viewfinder. That challenge keeps me coming back.
Looking through this season’s photos, I’m drawn just as much to the moments between plays: a player listening through a headset, a coach watching the field, a line of Tigers helmets, teammates celebrating together. Those frames give the action its context. You get to see the people putting in the effort.
The season also brought its own changes in scenery. There were bright evenings at the start, the familiar excitement of Homecoming against Barberton on October 2, and rain falling through the lights against Brecksville-Broadview Heights on October 16. Each game left something different in the photographs.
The Soundtrack of the Season
The Twinsburg Marching Band belongs in any collection about football season. From the banner and flags to the uniforms and feathered hats, the band gives a photographer details to work with before the game even begins.
Then there’s the music. The band’s presence helps carry the evening from the anticipation before kickoff through the performance on the field. Behind it are students who have spent their own hours rehearsing and preparing. I’m glad this collection includes a few pieces of their season, too.
Spirit Along the Sideline and in the Stands
The cheerleaders bring another kind of motion to the night. There are routines to follow and quick moments to catch, but there’s also room for a group photo or a smile with a teammate. I enjoy having both in the same collection. Together, they show a little more of the experience.
And the student section always gives me a reason to turn around. This year’s photos include patriotic decorations, friends leaning together at the railing, and a Halloween-themed banner at the Mayfield game. The students put their own stamp on each evening, and their enthusiasm is part of what I want to preserve.
The People Who Make It Happen
Some of the frames reach beyond the teams and student groups. Flags, a commemorative coin, and first responders standing together are reminders of the wider community gathered around these games.
The football ball boys deserve a thank-you as well. Their work along the sideline is another part of keeping the game moving, and their season matters to the families following along.
To the players, coaches, band members, cheerleaders, students, families, and everyone helping behind the scenes: thank you for giving me so much to photograph. A special thank-you to the seniors finishing this chapter. I hope these images bring back a few familiar faces and moments whenever you return to them.
