A sporting event is about more than the final score. The athletes may be at the center of the action, but every game also includes the people who lead, officiate, perform, support, document, and bring energy to the entire experience.
That is why I created a collection of special albums on T.J. Powell Photography. These are living collections that automatically bring together photographs of particular groups from sporting events across my site. As more qualifying images are added to event galleries, these special albums can continue to grow—giving visitors another way to explore the people and moments surrounding the competition.
More Than the Game
Traditional galleries are usually organized by sport, team, opponent, or date. These special collections take a different approach. They follow the people and groups whose stories stretch across many events and seasons. Instead of searching through one game at a time, visitors can browse a growing collection centered on a familiar part of the high-school sports experience.
Cheerleaders

Cheerleaders help set the tone from the opening introductions to the final whistle. Their routines, reactions, school spirit, and connection with the crowd are an important part of the atmosphere. The Cheerleaders album brings those moments together from sporting events covered over time.
High School Coaches

Coaches teach, prepare, encourage, adjust, and lead. Some of their most revealing moments happen away from the main action: a conversation during a timeout, instructions from the sideline, a celebration, or a quiet exchange with an athlete. The High School Coaches album collects images of that leadership across different teams and sports.
Referees and Officials

Officials have one of the most demanding roles at any sporting event. They must stay close to the play, make decisions in an instant, communicate clearly, and keep the contest moving. The Referees album recognizes the men and women responsible for applying the rules and helping make competition possible.
The Photographers Behind the Photographs

Sports photographers are often positioned just beyond the action, looking for the next decisive moment. The Sports Photographers album turns the camera toward the photographers I encounter while covering events.

There is also a separate collection of T.J. Powell taking sports photos. Because I am usually the person behind the camera, these images offer a different view of what my work looks like from the sidelines, end lines, and other shooting positions.
The Sound, Spirit, and Energy of Twinsburg

Several special albums focus on groups that make Twinsburg High School events feel like much more than a competition.
- The Twinsburg Marching Band album highlights the musicians and performances that provide the soundtrack to the event.
- The Twinsburg Student Section album captures the reactions, themes, celebrations, and school spirit coming from the stands.
- The Blue Diamond Dance Team album brings together photographs of the team’s performances and contributions to the game-day atmosphere.
- The Twinsburg Step Team album showcases the precision, rhythm, and energy the team brings to Twinsburg events.
Collections That Keep Growing
One of my goals in photographing high-school sports is to preserve the complete experience. That means looking beyond the ball and noticing the coach giving direction, the official watching the play, the band preparing to perform, the student section reacting, and the many people helping create the moment.
Because these special albums gather related photographs from across my event coverage, they are worth revisiting. New images can appear as I photograph more games and add more galleries. Browse the collections above, look for familiar faces, and enjoy another view of the people who make each sporting event memorable.
