The 2026 Twinsburg High School varsity volleyball season came to a close on October 28 at Maple Heights High School, where the Tigers pushed Lakewood to five sets in the OHSAA Division II Northeast 7 district final. Twinsburg finished as district runner-up, with a tournament performance that gave the team and its supporters plenty to be proud of.
With the season wrapped up, I’ve brought together my top 25 photos. The collection reaches from September matches through that final October evening, with room for both JV and varsity, the action on the court, and the personalities that made the season fun to photograph.
A Season With Plenty to Remember
Volleyball keeps a photographer busy. The ball can move from a serve to a pass to an attack in seconds, and finding a clear view means watching several players at once. I enjoy the anticipation: a server waiting with the ball, a passer getting into position, a hitter rising toward the net. Each gives the camera a different moment to catch.
Looking back through these photographs, I’m also glad I kept turning toward the bench. There are teammates smiling together, players reacting to a rally, and a coach talking with an athlete beside the court. Those photographs help me remember the people behind the uniforms.
JV, Varsity, and a Gym Full of Support
This collection includes the JV team alongside varsity because both belong in the season’s story. The early photographs have plenty of personality: friends with their arms around one another, smiles from the bench, and players ready for the next serve. Later frames bring the varsity huddle and a cheering student section into view.
I like seeing those moments together. A season is a shared experience for the athletes, coaches, families, and students who keep showing up. Years from now, a familiar face at the edge of a photograph may bring back just as much as the play in the center.
A District Final Worth Remembering
Lakewood won the first two sets, 25–15 and 25–19. Twinsburg responded by taking the next two, both 25–22, sending the final to a deciding fifth set. Even that set needed extra points before Lakewood prevailed, 17–15, for a 3–2 match victory.
That comeback deserves to be part of how this season is remembered. Down two sets in a district final, the Tigers gave themselves a chance to win it in the fifth. The photographs from that evening include the concentration on the court and the teammates following every rally from the sideline.
The collection closes with medals, the district runner-up plaque, and the team together. They make a fitting final chapter to a season that carried Twinsburg all the way to a championship match.
Why These 25
Choosing 25 photographs means deciding what I want to remember about a season. Here, that includes an outstretched arm beneath the ball, the energy of a team huddle, a quick smile toward the camera, and the group photograph after the final match.
Thank you to the JV and varsity players, coaches, families, and fans for giving me so many moments worth keeping. To the seniors, I hope these photographs help preserve a few favorite pieces of your time with Twinsburg volleyball. Congratulations to the Tigers on their district runner-up finish and a season worth celebrating.
