The Twinsburg High School gym hosted an exciting evening of girls volleyball Tuesday, September 1, as the Tigers welcomed the Kenston Bombers for junior varsity and varsity matches.

Kenston opened the evening by winning the junior varsity match in straight sets, 2–0.

The varsity match went the distance, with Twinsburg rallying from a 2–1 deficit to earn a thrilling 3–2 victory. The Tigers edged Kenston 26–24 in a tightly contested opening set before the Bombers answered by winning the next two sets, 25–23 and 25–18.

With their backs against the wall, the Tigers responded. Twinsburg captured another close set, 25–23, to force a decisive fifth set and then completed the comeback.

The victory improved Twinsburg’s varsity record to 3–1, while Kenston fell to 1–4. The match was already Kenston’s third five-set contest through its first five matches of the season.

Both teams will return to the court Thursday, September 3. Twinsburg is scheduled to host Barberton at 7 p.m., while Kenston will host Aurora at 6:30 p.m. The Tigers and Bombers are scheduled to meet again September 24 at Kenston.
