A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to be part of something that turned out to be a lot more than just an off-road trip.
I joined the Expedition Appalachia 2026 hosted by Overlander Project—set in the incredible terrain surrounding New River Gorge in West Virginia—and it’s one of those weekends that sticks with you long after it’s over.
Rugged mountain trails, scenic overlooks that make you stop and just take it in, and miles of terrain that constantly reminded you why this part of the country is so special. The weather couldn’t have been better—clear skies, comfortable temps, and perfect conditions for both driving and camping.
What made Expedition Appalachia unforgettable was the camaraderie—the shared mindset of adventure, the willingness to lend a hand, and the collective appreciation for being out there.
I have uploaded a video I created of the weekend. Watch below or click to view in YouTube
Of course I also took photos. But, unfortunately I made an error and deleted all the photos I took from my DSLR. The only remaining photos I have are from my iPhone.
